Well, another year has come and gone. So, I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas from Hawaii 2019. Believe it or not, we’re actually having “winter weather” here in the form of Hawaiian snow (rain).
Much like last year, I find myself at home for the holidays once again. Now, that’s not a bad thing, as I get to spend my time with family. But, I do find myself longing for a white Christmas. After all, who doesn’t like enjoying the warmth of a crackling fire as you gaze out at the snow-covered landscape? Too cliche? Probably. But, for those of us that call the islands home, such an idyllic winter scene is the stuff of dreams. As is, I’m sure, it is the dream of those of you stuck in the snow to spend a warm winter on the beach out here in Hawaii.

Dreaming of a White Christmas
If I could, I’d love to spend a Christmas at the Fairmont Banff Springs or Chateau Lake Louise. Well, I thought I did until I saw how ridiculously small the rooms at Banff are. But, I’ve been wanting to visit these places since I was a child and still want to because of the areas’ physical beauty. Heck, I think I learned about the two locations and hotels on some A&E documentary before they turned into a reality TV channel 🙄. Yeah, I was a weird kid. Don’t ask.
So, now, the goal (if I had the time and money) would be to experience the holidays somewhere (anywhere) that fits the description in my intro paragraph. Anywhere you guys would recommend? And where/what is your dream Christmas vacation?

Merry Christmas! Banff National Park is an awesome place to visit any time of the year.
Thank you for always reading and for all your fantastic feedback, gm1! Merry Christmas to you as well!
I grew up on O’ahu (Kaneohe), and there is nothing like being in Hawaii for Christmas and New Years. We’ve spent many Christmases in San Diego (where we live now), London, Washington, D.C., and Paris, all of which are beautiful in their own ways, but Christmas at home in the islands = no ka oi.
Indeed, James! There’s never anywhere quite like home. Speaking of which, this Christmas was filled with Hawaiian snow, resulting in many, many waterfalls on the Windward side. Spectacular!
