The Delta Sky Club at LAX Airport is located in Terminal 5 between gates 53 & 55. To get there while in Terminal 5, follow the slope down to the middle of the terminal (near McDonalds) and look for the Delta Sky Club elevator.

While I normally would do a full review of a lounge on an international trip, I neglected to take pictures of the entire club and only took the time to photograph the shower area at the LAX Sky Club. I suppose if you really wanted to see pictures, I could just round up photos from other Sky Club locations across the US and put them in here – you probably wouldn’t notice much of a difference. Same style of design, chairs, snacks, etc.
But what really set the LAX Delta Sky Club apart for me was the fact that I could take a shower in the club. In order to make my flight from Minneapolis to LAX, I had to get up before dawn to make it to the airport to catch our flight. Not being a morning person, I decided to save time by not showering at home and testing the shower facilities at LAX during my ~8 hour layover leading up to our departure for French Polynesia.
Delta Sky Club LAX Showers
My first order of business was getting my name on the list of people to use the shower facilities. You can do this at the front desk at the LAX Sky Club at the same desk you use to check in as you enter the club. I was informed by the agent that I was 6th on the list and they would alert me when ready. I was surprised when less than 15 minutes later my name was called over the loudspeaker to take my shower.
As I entered the shower, the first thing I noticed the red tile and sink style that is common in all Delta Sky Clubs.

Then I decided to look at the shower itself to see what I was dealing with. Spacious enough, but the shower head didn’t look right. I am 6’2″ tall and there was no way that shower head was going to come up past my shoulders. To make matters worse, the shower head would not stay in an upright position and slumped down naturally each time I tried to prop it up.

Rather than wait for another shower to open (I believe there were only two in the club), I decided to put my engineering ingenuity to the test and find a way to prop up the shower head so it would stay in place. It worked, but I’m pretty sure I voided my warranty in the process, so don’t tell anyone.
Now it came time to shower. Delta provided me with some nice enough toiletries to help me get clean, as well as a towel that looked like it was a hand-me-down towel from the set of the Brady Bunch. Not that I am too picky about towels, but this towel looked nothing like any other towel that I have been given during my travels. It was fairly worn and had an ugly color that didn’t match the rest of the club decor. It felt as if an employee went home to get extra towels when the Sky Club ran out.

I know what you are thinking: Shoddy shower head + brown towel = bad shower, right? Actually, the shower was pleasant enough and I am still amazed that this is an amenity that is provided while traveling internationally. Now I have had better shower experiences, like at the Air France Lounge at Paris, but showering in an airport in the middle of a long haul is almost sinful it’s so great. I didn’t really give a crap what the towel looked like.
When all was done, I cleaned up and took some more pictures of the aftermath. As you can see, I clean up well.

And that was my experience with the Delta Sky Club LAX Showers. Not great by shower standards, but an amazing way to freshen up during a long layover and flight.
