It doesn’t get any more 1980’s than Delta’s recent safety video which featured styles and celebrities from my first decade of existence.
Do you love the helmets worn by the band Devo? Were you a breakdancer or a kiss fan? Remember ALF from Melmac? If you have an affinity for 1980s pop culture and styles, then you simply much watch the newest Delta flight safety video
My favorite parts? Definitely the appearance of ALF in the video is #1. I must have been like 6 years old when that show was popular, but I remember ALF fondly.
I also loved the guy doing the “electric worm” down the aisle, after his exit row seat was replaced by a breakdancer.
And finally, who can’t appreciate the Kareem Abdul Jabbar cameo at the end of the video? Airplane was one of the quintessential movies of the 1980’s and it is the perfect ending to a well done video from the marketing team at Delta.
Good job, Delta. I guess it just proves that Delta Marketing > Delta IT > Delta Skymiles. If only they could divert some of their safety budget towards fixing their award booking engine…
What’s your favorite part of the video?
I love the video but “hate” Alf – he ate cats ;-)
Haha, do you think if ALF were still around that there would be fewer cat videos on YouTube? If so, wouldn’t the world be a better place?
Anti-Cat-ite :-)
Haha I especially loved the young version of the redhead girl who does the famous no smoking finger wave! Brilltiant!
The use of little Deltalana was a nice touch.
