A few weeks ago I wrote briefly about my trip to Indianapolis in a post titled “Impressed with Indianapolis.” In that post, I promised that more would follow, including a review of the Conrad Indianapolis hotel, where I stayed for the night. Here is that review.
One of the benefits to arriving at your hotel after 11 PM is that at that point most of the room assignments are decided for the night. That means there is a chance that you can receive an upgraded room without having top tier hotel status. In my case, I was able to get upgraded to a corner suite with my Hilton Honors Gold Status.
What follows is my review after spending approximately 12 hours at the Conrad Indianapolis.
The Location
The Conrad Indianapolis is located in the central part of the city, known as the Circle Centre. There were hotels, restaurants and other attractions within walking distance of the hotel and it seemed to be a nice place to stay for tourists.

When I was picked up from the airport, my Uber driver told me that the Conrad was the nicest hotel in Indianapolis and that he used to work at the hotel. He had no problem finding the location.
I entered the beautiful and empty lobby to the hotel and went to the front desk to get my room assignment.

The person working the desk at the hotel told me that they did not have any King rooms available (which was what was booked for me for this trip) and asked if a queen room would do. Only having a few hours in town I said that would be fine. Then as he punched into the computer he noticed there was an accessible room available and offered me that. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I said “how about a room upgrade, I’m Hilton Gold”
Surprisingly, he was able to upgrade me to a corner suite room, which ended up being a very large room. This is something that rarely (if ever) happens to me as a Hilton Honors gold member, so I was pleasantly surprised to be offered an upgrade.

The Corner King Suite at the Conrad Indianapolis
The corner king room was a nice upgrade. It featured two full rooms, two bathrooms, 4 televisions and a king sized bed. You could call it the perfect place to spend 9 hours.

The room had a nice desk and a Keureg coffee maker, which handled my basic necessities for the day.

The main room would have been a great place to lounge for the evening had I gotten in earlier.

I did not manage to turn on any of the 4 TV’s in the room.

This hotel room was impressive. Way too much space for a person traveling solo on business, but a welcomed upgrade. Given how stingy Hilton can be, this was a quality experience overall.
The Conrad Spa and Fitness Center
The spa at the Conrad Indianapolis seemed quite nice, although I did not partake in any of the treatments, swimming pool or workout facility. Given the timing of my trip I had almost no time to actually take advantage of the hotel facility.
While looking at the spa, I stumbled upon the workout facility where there were several large men working out. I later discovered that this was the Dallas Mavericks basketball team. Talk about dedication.

Conrad Indianapolis Hotel Review: Final Thoughts

Overall this was a nice hotel and I was pleasantly surprised with the upgrade. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Indianapolis and based on the feedback from my Uber driver, this is the finest hotel in the city.
But…but…but… what about your Conrad stuffed animal!? ;)
No sign of any animals! Maybe just an international thing?
