Of the four major remaining hotel loyalty programs, Hyatt’s is probably the best. Part of the reason for this is that it hasn’t change too much in recent years. However, World of Hyatt is changing in 2024, though, thankfully, it seems to be a positive change.
No, major changes aren’t being made to the program – no changes to elite qualifications, elite tiers, or earning rates. Rather, changes are coming to mostly ancillary benefits. That said, without further adieu, let’s get into it.
World of Hyatt is Changing in 2024
The first change I’m going to cover are those coming to Milestone Rewards. Specifically, Milestone Rewards will now give you choices. You see, up until now, these rewards were set, and could be virtually useless for Globalists. For example, today, once you’ve stayed 20 nights, you’d receive Club Access Awards. However, come next year, you’ll be able to choose between three different options:
- 20 Nights or 35,000 base points

- 2 Club Access Awards
- $25 FIND Experience Credit
- 30 Nights or 50,000 base points
- Category 1-4 Free Night Certificate, plus your choice of:

Guest of Honor
One of the biggest benefit changes as World of Hyatt is changing in 2024, is Guest of Honor. As you can see above, come next year, you can earn Guest of Honors awards for hitting certain thresholds. That’s not the case right now, as this is currently a benefit for Globalist members only. What intrigues me the most, though, is that if you’re not a Globalist, you can use Guest of Honor for yourself to get temporary Globalist benefits.
Event Planners
If you’re an event planner, this next portion for you. As World of Hyatt is changing in 2024, they’re making it easier for planners to earn status. That’s because, instead of earning status based on the number of events you hold, you’ll soon be able to earn elite night credits based on how much you spend. Specifically, as is the case with the World of Hyatt Visa, event planners can earn 2 elite night credits for every $5,000 they spend on events, with a annual cap of $150,000, which equates to sixty elite qualifying nights. That’ll give you Globalist status!
Travel Advisors
Independent travel advisors are getting the same love as event planners, as they’ll be able to earn 2 elite night credits for every $5,000 in eligible room-rate spend booked each year at participating hotels and resorts, when booked through Hyatt Privé or directly with Hyatt when you associate both your IATA number and World of Hyatt membership with the reservation. This benefit is also capped at $150,000 per year, which comes out to sixty elite qualifying nights.
World of Hyatt is Changing in 2024, Final Thoughts
It’s nice to see a change that isn’t a negative one nowadays, which is certainly the case as World of Hyatt is changing in 2024. Of course, that doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods. At minimum, we are going to see more category changes soon, and those annual changes are making it exceedingly difficult to use those Category 1-4 certificates in the U.S. But, again, at least they’re not going the way of Marriott or Hilton, and I sincerely hope they never do.
